Set up an account recovery contact
User Guide / Security matters / Recovery contactAn account recovery contact will help you regain access to your account, even if you forget password to your e-Cont.md account.
What is an account recovery contact?
An account recovery contact (agent) is a person who can verify your identity and help restore access to your account and all your data if it is locked.
Setting up a recovery contact isn’t required to use account recovery, but it can make regaining access to your account and data easier.
Who should I designate as a recovery contact?
Your recovery agent should be someone you know and trust, such as a family member or close friend.
You can select up to five contacts to help you recover your account. To protect your privacy, Diginet does not have information about who your recovery agents are, so it's important to remember them yourself.
What will the recovery contact need to restore access?
The selected recovery agent must have a device that meets the minimum requirements for logging into the e-Cont.md website. Your authorized person will not be able to log into your account. They will only be able to provide you with a code if needed.

- You may be prompted to update devices or remove devices you're not using.
- Your agent must be over 18 years old.
- Two-factor authentication must be enabled for your account.
