Importing Data

User Guide / Account setup / Importing Data

It is easy to import payers, invoices and payments in e-Cont.md. This guide shows how to import data into e-Cont.md using our import system.

1) Identifying existing records

Each data type that supports updating, deleting or canceling has its own criteria for matching the imported row with an existing record. These are the criteria for matching existing records for each data type:

  • Customers - Customer ID (fiscal code IDNO)
  • Invoices - Customer ID and Invoice (fiscal code IDNO)
  • Payments - Customer ID and Invoice (fiscal code IDNO)

2) Customers

Steps to import Customers:

  1. Go to "Your Customers"
  2. Click the "Import" button at the top right of the page.
  3. Create an import table, select all the contents and paste it into the text field. To get started, download the template for importing customers (buyers).
  4. Click "Check data".
  5. Select the required import mode:
    • Update existing records or create new ones
    • Only create new records
    • Only update existing records
    • Delete existing records
  6. Also use the checkboxes to exclude or add lines to the import list.
  7. If necessary, you can click the "Return" button and return to the previous step.
  8. Click "Import" to start the procedure import.

Tips

  • The only required field is the customer identifier (fiscal code IDNO).
  • Customers are first identified by account number, and if it is not specified, customers are identified by name. If a client with the same account number (or name, if the account number is not specified) has already been created in e-Cont.md, a new client will not be created.
  • You can specify the account number, or if it is left blank, we will generate one for you.
  • The "Type" field can only be one of the values
    • J - legal entity
    • I - private entrepreneur
    • F - individual face
